Kinderszenen (Scenes From Childhood), Op. 15   (1838)


               Schumann described this set of 13 short movements describing childhood as 
               "more cheerful, gentler, more melodic" than his earlier works.  Childhood 
                 subjects of the movements include "Pleading Child", "Knight of the Hobbyhorse", 
                 "Frightening", and "Child Falling Asleep."
